Federal Reserve Short-Term Funding Markets Conference Set For Sept. 25

The Center for Financial Policy at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and the Federal Reserve Board, co-host the third annual Federal Reserve Short-Term Funding Markets Conference, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday. September 25.

The webinar will bring together researchers, regulators, and others to explore short-term funding markets in terms of playing a central role in monetary policy transmission and experiencing substantial funding stress and investor runs amid recent Covid-19 market turmoil.

Yale School of Management professor Gary Gorton will give the keynote address, “Private Money Production without Banks,” from noon to 1:30 p.m. Other topics on the agenda include:

  • Short-Term Interest Rates
