Bowling Green State University joins the world in mourning the loss of Rock-and-Roll Hall of Famer Ric Ocasek, a BGSU student in the ’60s. As the frontman for the Cars, Ric Ocasek brought humor, quirkiness and smart, danceable New Wave sounds to pop/rock radio in the 70s and 80s. His continued work as a producer with acts like Weezer, Bad Brains and No Doubt cements his legacy as an important part of the pop music industry. He will be missed.
