The ReadyCam® studio, made possible by a generous gift and continued support from alumnus Roger Mills Gilbert ’76, provides remote access to television networks around the globe, from CNN to BBC, NBC, PBS and hundreds of others. Remotely controlled by VideoLink staff, the studio eliminates the need for faculty to travel long distances to do live interviews.
“This project is significant and aligns with the belief that the great achievements of our students, faculty and staff should be celebrated and shared with the world,” said Ryan Yarosh, senior director of media and public relations.
The facility offers live or recorded interviews of a single guest with any television network in the world without the need for on-site technicians. Feeds can also be sent to various webcasting service providers and to various social media platforms such as Facebook for live video broadcasts.
Staffing and use of the studio is complimentary when news media interview Binghamton University experts. With sufficient notice, the studio is available for guests unaffiliated with the University for a nominal fee.
