Hydroxychloroquine for Treatment of COVID-19 Linked to Increased Risk of Cardiac Arrhythmias
A team of pharmacists and clinicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has found evidence suggesting that patients who received hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19 were at increased risk of electrical changes to the heart and cardiac arrhythmias.

Researchers Reveal Substantial Disparities in COVID-19 Hospitalization and Death Rates Among New York City Boroughs
A study led by researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), suggests that substantial differences in COVID-19-related hospitalizations and deaths have emerged along racial and socioeconomic lines in New York City.

BIDMC Immunologist at the Forefront of the Race for a COVID-19 Vaccine
Immunologist Dan Barouch, MD, PhD has become a world leader in the race to develop a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. As Director of BIDMC’s Center for Virology and Vaccine Research, Barouch and his colleagues began working on a COVID-19 vaccine on January 10, the night Chinese scientists released the SARS-CoV-2 virus’s genome.

Inside the Race to Launch BIDMC’s In-House COVID-19 Testing Capabilities
A team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center implemented an in-house COVID-19 test soon after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted American healthcare institutions permission to do so. In the process, the team launched the first high throughput COVID-19 test in a New England medical center.

BIDMC-Led Clinical Trial Identifies Four Novel 3D-Printed Swabs for Use in COVID-19 Testing
