What: The Arnhold Institute for Global Health at the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai will host a virtual event on World AIDS Day to honor those living with HIV globally and support youth growing up with HIV in Kenya. The virtual event will consist of expert panel discussions on topics including how to improve patient care and services to children and adolescents with HIV and AIDS across the world and in New York City during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual event will also benefit Kenyan youth living with HIV with all proceeds supporting counseling services, food, PPE, temporary housing, peer support groups, and other services for adolescents and their families. The Arnhold Institute for Global Health leads the Adolescent Health initiative within the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) partnership in Kenya. Through the partnership with AMPATH—one of the world’s largest HIV treatment programs—more than 15,000 children and 140,000 adults receive HIV care.
