Americans are More Tired on Black Friday

The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is not restful for Gen Z. A new survey from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) found that 61% of 18- to 24-year-olds are more tired than usual on Black Friday. This is compared with the nearly 40% (39%) of Americans who report they usually feel more tired than usual on Black Friday.

To help make sleep a priority, the AASM recommends practicing good sleep hygiene and following a bedtime routine – nightly habits that will help one wind down and get ready to sleep. To see how an early morning shopping trip on Black Friday will disrupt your sleep schedule, use AASM’s bedtime calculator, which provides a customized, recommended bedtime by age and wake time.
