AGA & Rx.Health create Virtual Care Hub with Telehealth for GI practices during COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and Rx.Health have announced the launch of a nationwide Virtual Care Hub and Telehealth facility for GI practices. The initiative expands upon their existing partnership providing the GI community with an endoscopy transformation network.

The Virtual Care Hub and Telehealth, delivered via Rx.Health’s digital health platform, will support digital screening and triage of patients before in-person appointments, conducting virtual visits through a dedicated telehealth room for each provider, and digital prescription of GI education modules including those from the AGA patient education center.

“This is a period of crisis for not only our patients and communities but also for health care organizations and GI practices nationwide,” said Tom Serena, CEO of AGA. “By supporting seamless transition to virtual care, we are enabling a new model that allows AGA to support continuity of care during the COVID-19 crisis and help our members, patients and communities.”

“Through AGA’s unparalleled subject matter, we have been able to support multiple health systems and ambulatory surgical centers with our full suite of perioperative, evidence-based digital solutions as a plug-and-play turnkey solution,” said Gaurav Narang, VP Strategic partnerships at Rx.Health. “Through industry partnerships, we are now able to extend the current model and support a comprehensive virtual care model including patient onboarding, appointment reminders, telehealth visits and post visit follow up – at a fraction of the normal cost.”
