Adetomiwa Adedire named 2021 recipient of the IADR David B. Scott Fellowship

Alexandria, Va., USA – The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) announced Adetomiwa Adedire, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, as the 2021 recipient of the IADR David B. Scott Fellowship. Adedire was recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the virtual 99th General Session & Exhibition of the IADR, held in conjunction with the 50th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the 45th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR), on July 21-24, 2021.

Adedire is a fifth-year dental student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He won the 2021 David B. Scott Fellowship Award for his proposal titled “Effect of a Common Chewing Stick (Massularia Acumiinata) on Intra-oral Volatile Sulphur Compound Concentration and Tongue pH,” which aims to compare the effect of Massularia Acumiinata on intra-oral volatile sulphur compound concentration and tongue pH.

The David B. Scott Fellowship is normally awarded annually to one dental student in one IADR Division and will rotate alphabetically among the Divisions. It is the Division’s responsibility to select the recipient by any method it devises, but the Division must present the candidate’s name and the proposal for his or her research experience to the IADR Board for approval. The David B. Scott Fellowship is funded at $2,500 USD.
